CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: BAM BOARD OF DIRECTORS - Deadline to apply July 21st, 2023.

Bioscience Association Manitoba (BAM) is currently seeking nominations for vacancies on their board of directors. Appointments will begin at the Bioscience Association Manitoba’s 2023 Annual General Meeting. Appointments are for a two-year term with an option for renewal.

As is the case every year, we are presently seeking individuals from our membership to self-nominate and serve on the Association’s Board to enrich the diverse talents, skills, and experiences of our existing Board of Directors. This year we are particularly interested in individuals who possess expertise in legal and information technology business functions, the clean biotech sector (i.e., bioenergy, biomass fuels or biochemicals), the agricultural biotech sector (i.e. animal health, plant genomics or agricultural inputs) and/or those with prior board experience within the private sector. 

Per the Association’s Bylaws, the BAM Board is made up to a maximum of 15 Directors and nominees must be members in good standing. Board membership allows benefits including, but not limited to:

  • Voting rights on Board-only decision points; 
  • Providing directional input on BAM strategy;
  • Participation in the election of Officers and/or to the ability hold on an Officer's position;
  • Ability to influence Bylaws changes;
  • The opportunity to speak on behalf of BAM at events; and 
  • Membership connections and networking,

Board members responsibilities include: 

  • Attending meetings of the BAM Board of Directors;
  • Participating in committees;
  • To ensure the development, and enhance the value, of the programs and services the
  • Association offers, providing direction to the Association; and
  • Participating in BAM community events such as the Awards Dinner and Global Biotech Week.
