Monteris cleared to make MRI-guided laser available in Canada

Monteris Medical, a medical device company formed in Winnipeg in 1999, has received Health Canada clearance to make its MRI-guided, minimally invasive surgical laser device commercially available in Canada.

The device called NeuroBlate (formerly known as AutoLITT) is used to treat deep-seated, and difficult-to-treat brain tumours and epilepsy.

Monteris has had regulatory approval to sell the device in the U.S. since 2010 and there are six installation sites in action there.
