They can be confident in receiving the highest quality treatment available within our comprehensive cancer center, where over 70 leading research scientists and clinicians, along with research associates, lab technicians and support staff, comprise CCMB’s cancer-fighting research team.

Embedding research into all aspects of cancer control — prevention, detection, treatment, and support — is an essential component of CancerCare Manitoba’s mission. Research at The Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute CancerCare Manitoba is informed by everyday clinical challenges faced by Manitoba oncologists, and the overriding goal is to positively impact the lives of cancer patients and their families.

Our multidisciplinary research includes basic laboratory science, advanced patient clinical trials, emerging technology, and health services research. CCMB is the sole cancer authority for Manitoba and is responsible for delivering and coordinating cancer service delivery, and has a legislated responsibility for cancer and blood disorder research.
