TRLabs is Canada's largest Information Communication Technology (ICT) research consortium involving industry member companies, university researchers and students, and provincial and federal governments. The consortium collectively shares the risks of exploring new ICT innovations and benefits from the collaborative development of new ideas, new technologies, and highly skilled ICT industry professionals. By growing industry through ICT innovation, there are societal benefits generated on behalf of all citizens. A stronger diversified economy leads to world class sustainable communities while the innovations themselves improve lives and create better jobs. Since industry must be an active partner to reach these goals, TRLabs ensures that industry takes a significant stake in setting direction for all our programs. Stakeholders currently include 86 industry partners including: TELUS, MTS Allstream, SaskTel, Manitoba Hydro and over 80 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) focused on the ICT industry in Western Canada. Our university partners include: University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, University of Manitoba, and University of Winnipeg. Our government partners include the Government of Canada and the provincial governments of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
