Risk Communications - Looking at Controversy

Why Attend?

Get the message across. Communicating in situations where there’s high concern, low trust, sensitivity, or controversy needs to be handled differently than regular types of conversations. Research shows people under stress have a harder time hearing, understanding, and remembering information — and tend to focus on negative words or phrases.

Risk communication is a science-based approach for communicating in these situations. With over 25 years of developed research, Dr. Andrew Powell joins LSAM in presenting Risk Communications – Looking at Controversy. This workshop will help you get your message across in situations that involve various levels of risk.
Workshop includes a light breakfast.

Who should attend?

Professionals working in public affairs, communications, marketing, presidents, senior managers, and researchers. This event is ideal for anyone with scientific challenges when informing the public and shareholders, and is insightful for those who need to get information out to the media.
