Digital Health: A New Decade

Digital Health: A New Decade
This year's theme was designed to invite submissions on projects and initiatives in Manitoba that have a presence in the present and are ready for future growth. This is an exciting time for health-care professionals using digital tools that were just a vision 10 years ago and are now part of our daily health-care practice. For the 2014 conference, the Program Committee encouraged submissions on systems or software that are in use today and will continue to play a role in our changing landscape over the next decade.

Conference tracks
The conference offers three thematic tracks:

Building on digital applications
Presentations in this track focus on new, exciting forms of technology and innovation paving the way for the future?more specifically, those used in solutions that enhance or support health-care delivery. Presenters will discuss specific technology that is in use today and will be developed for future use.

ePatient
Manitoba has introduced many systems that give health-care providers immediate access to patient information, with the ultimate goal of patient-centric care. This track is focused on exploring the changes in health care from the patient’s point of view. Presentations will show how the patient can be more involved in their own health care.

Strategy and leadership trends
Leaders who engage their teams and challenge them to follow the path not taken are a key ingredient in shaping our future. This track will explore new governance mechanisms, organizational models and skills every program leader should have. Presenters will detail their experiences with emerging roles, career paths and strategies for becoming a more effective ‘digital’ leader.
