Description: How Should Your Company Protect Its Intellectual Property?
• Patent
• Trade Secret
• Copyright
• Not at all?
Innovation protection can be far broader, simpler and more cost-effective than merely filing for patents. Our panel will discuss the appropriate IP strategy for different business models, the importance of aligning your IP with your brand and how to use branding as an effective alternative to IP. The discussion will include the cost of pursuing various IP protection options, the business interest being promoted by the IP strategy and the relative value of various protection methods.

Our multi-disciplined panel will include an intellectual property lawyer and senior executives whose businesses depend on IP strategy.

Panelist:
1. Peter George, President & CEO, McKim Cringan George

2. Mathew Hudson Cheif Executive Officer, Invenia Technical Computing

3. Silvia de Sousa, Lawyer, Thompson Dorfman Sweatman

Place: Fairmont Winnipeg, March 4, 2010 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
